At Children without Borders, we believe that volunteers are the heartbeat of community change. Our Volunteer Engagement Program connects passionate individuals with meaningful opportunities to support children, families, and communities in barrios, neighborhoods, and districts across Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Through hands-on involvement, volunteers help create lasting impact and strengthen the programs that transform lives.
The Volunteer Engagement Program is designed to:
Volunteers actively participate in local initiatives such as: Assisting with educational programs and tutoring Supporting healthcare outreach and preventive campaigns Helping with food distribution and community gardens Assisting in women’s empowerment and youth leadership activities Hands-on engagement allows volunteers to directly see the impact of their contributions.
Our program provides volunteers with the opportunity to: Learn about local culture, traditions, and community challenges Understand the realities of rural and underserved neighborhoods Develop cross-cultural communication and problem-solving skills Immersive experiences deepen understanding and create more meaningful volunteer contributions.
Volunteers help amplify the mission of Children without Borders by: Participating in fundraising campaigns Sharing stories and raising awareness of community needs Supporting local events and advocacy initiatives Through advocacy, volunteers help create sustainable support networks for the communities we serve.
We equip volunteers with the knowledge and tools to make a difference: Orientation sessions and program-specific training Safety, ethical engagement, and cultural sensitivity workshops Mentorship and guidance to maximize impact Trained volunteers become effective contributors and ambassadors for change.
