At Children without Borders, we believe that empowered youth are the future leaders of their communities. Our Youth Leadership Program provides young people in barrios, communities, and districts across Nicaragua and Costa Rica with the skills, mentorship, and opportunities they need to become confident, responsible, and proactive leaders.
The Youth Leadership Program is designed to:
Choose Housing Assistance for secure, affordable solutions that provide stability, support, and a brighter future for individuals and families facing housing challenges.
Participants engage in workshops and activities that: Develop communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Enhance self-confidence and personal goal-setting Promote ethical and responsible leadership Encourage creative solutions to community challenges These experiences equip youth with practical tools they can apply in school and community life.
Youth learn leadership through action by: Designing and implementing local projects that address community needs Collaborating with peers, mentors, and local leaders Tackling issues such as environmental sustainability, education, and social inclusion Hands-on projects allow youth to see the tangible impact of their leadership.
The program helps youth understand their roles as active citizens: Workshops on human rights, community service, and civic engagement Training in conflict resolution and constructive communication Encouragement to participate in local decision-making processes Informed and engaged youth become advocates for positive change.
Youth participants are guided by mentors who: Provide ongoing personal and academic support Encourage leadership, problem-solving, and community involvement Help participants set and achieve long-term goals Strong mentorship networks foster resilience and long-lasting personal growth.
Our Youth Leadership Program serves communities in:
