At Children without Borders, we know that empowered women transform families, communities, and future generations. Healthy, educated, and economically secure women contribute to stronger societies — especially in neighborhoods and districts where opportunities are limited.
Our Women’s Empowerment Programs are designed to support women in Nicaragua and Costa Rica with the tools, education, and opportunities they need to build confidence, independence, and long‑term success.
We work directly with women in the communities where we serve, listening to their goals, challenges, and aspirations. By combining skills development, economic support, and community leadership, we help women move from survival to empowerment.
Financial stability is a key step toward empowerment. We provide:
Entrepreneurship training
Small business support and mentoring
Access to micro‑grants and savings groups
Financial literacy workshops
These resources help women launch or grow businesses, generate income, and contribute to household stability.
When women have access to education, entire communities benefit. Our programs offer:
Literacy and numeracy classes
Vocational training in market‑relevant skills
Workshops in digital literacy and professional development
Education builds confidence and creates pathways to better opportunities.
We encourage women to become leaders in their own communities through:
Leadership and advocacy workshops
Support groups and peer mentoring circles
Opportunities to lead community projects
Women who lead inspire others and help shape healthier, more equitable communities.
Understanding rights empowers women to speak up and protect themselves and their families. We provide:
Human rights education
Workshops on gender equality
Tools for self‑advocacy in social and legal settings
This knowledge helps women navigate challenges with strength and dignity.
Our Women’s Empowerment Programs are active in: Nicaragua — barrios and comarcas where women are key to community growth Costa Rica — districts where women are expanding opportunities Each program is tailored to the cultural strengths and needs of the community it serves.
Empowering women: Increases economic stability for families Strengthens community resilience Reduces gender‑based inequities Creates positive role models for children When women thrive, entire neighborhoods flourish.

Volunteering involves two processes. If you are a foreign national from a country where we operate, please contact us by email at info@childrenwb.org for more information. If you reside in the country where we work directly, the process is simpler, as these volunteers are familiar with the local situation and our volunteer procedures.
